Hey guys! Here's a stunning piece by Don and Kyle. This image is a little different. It's 60 megapixels as apposed to the normal 22 megapixels so it's 3 times the resolution. If you want to see the full resolution image to behold all of the details then click this link: https://goo.gl/mg3yYA

8-1/4" W2 blade w/ crazy hamon and cool stuff in the steel.
Damascus bolsters.
Mammoth tooth scales (best I've seen).
Tapered full tang.
13" over all length.

Another beauty from sunfish forge! Really like the natural colored mammoth tooth. Great job guys.

Really like this piece, I like the material choices and love the blade steel used here.

Don maybe a little more info about the blade steel.

Nice work fellas

Very attractive piece.....like the mammoth tooth......overall grace of the piece....and
the banding looks great..!

yourphotos are always great, the extra resolution makes it look more lifelike. almost like you can reach into the photo and grab it. the knife is brilliant as well :)

Caleb, great work buddy!!! Thanks!

R Appleby, the steel is W2. We have a few bars that show a lot of alloy banding,
more pattern than most of the high layer damascus stuff I do. I could heat cycle the banding out, but I Really like it.

I forged, ground & heat treated the blade. Kyle did most of the rest.

Thanks guys! This was a fun project!

Great stuff I really like it too.

great knife and pic. how big of monitor would you need to view that pic in its native resolution?

That W2 ended up bonkers!! I love that alloy banding combined with the DHIII awesome hamon.

Really a COOL piece. With grace, as Russ noted. Have not cottoned up to mammoth tooth at all, but the cut and coloration of this piece is super. It gets my attention.

Somebody is going to own a special piece.

Thanks very much for the kind words, guys!

Well on my 5K iMac if you wanted to view the whole image at once at native resolution/1:1 then you would need a 31x39 inch screen but if you were viewing it on a normal computer screen you would need one that is double the size which is 62x78 inch.

I really like that. The alloy banding is interesting. I have some hitachi blue that has all sorts of funky banding in it, even after one normalization and a few thermal cycles. Cool stuff!

I'm forging it and running 3 normalizing heats. Also gets screaming hard and performs great.
