Yep, that's right. A Don Hanson bowie. Don had this blade done, but with no guard or handle at last year's Little Rock show. I told him to put my name on it, as I wanted it badly. Originally, it was supposed to have some nice wood, but Don messed up the wood and I had to "Settle" for stag. Blade is 9" of forged, clay hardened 1084, with mosaic damascus oval guard. Mortis tang stag; the kind of stag you rarely see nowadays.

Whoa Danbo - you gotta tell Don to give those fabulous folders a rest and turn out a few more more big blades like these. That's a rare and wonderful find for sure. Too bad about the wood eh? I know how you hate getting stuck with stag :p :p . Great knife buddy.

Yeah, Roger. It's really tough. :)

I do have to say, if I had my druthers, I would have preferred a longer handle. The handle is long enough for my whole hand, but that's about it. Normally, I prefer some handle sticking out behind my hand, but who's going to reject a knife like this? Besides, somebody with less than Sasquatch type hands like mine probably wouldnt mind this handle at all. ;)

"That's gotta be a keeper"

Well, I'm certainly in no hurry to get rid of it. Also, not in a hurry to head outside to the woodpile and use it for chopping firewood either. :)

Bravo!

That's got to be one of the finest Bowies I ever saw......... :D

I don't know where he got that piece of stag, but it looks about 75 years old with a ton of character. Very rare, indeed. The goblins damascus is, so--Hanson!

A Bowie of this proportion fom the MASTER of the slim gent's auto??!! Donnie shows us he can do it all. :) He's already in my top ten quality/value count, and just moved up another notch. Good score Danbo!!

Bring that to Arkansas, I gotta see that in person!

You know, the "small" handle would fit my hand perfect. :D

It's a sharp sumbeetch too. Cut myself already with it. Had it in a zipper pouch, and I guess the tip poked through the zipper area. Some knifemakers don't ship their knives very sharp, but this guy does.

One hell of a piece of steel you got there Danbo!
That's a keeper! Bravo!

Damn fine stag on that one. While not a big fan of damascus blades, I love damascus fittings. That knife just has "classic" written all over it. The fact that you have a nose (and deep enough pockets) to acquire these beauties has me feeling more than a little jealous.
