Maybe someone mentioned it here before and I missed it, but our buddy Don Hanson made the Top Ten Knifemakers list in the current Knives Illustrated. Way to go Don! Congratulations and thanks for all the kind support you give us here.

That's something to put on the fridge!!!

Congratulations. :D

Aww, I guess he's an allright knifemaker. ;) :)

Seriously, I've been following Don and his knives for many years. I still remember when he was selling fixed blade hunters for $50 at local gun and knife shows. Even then, his work was nice. But, seemingly overnight, his work went from ok/nice to outstanding/up there with the best. It seems like one day he was making simple, full tang hunters out of saw steel, to the next day making fancy mosaic damascus liner locks and automatics. Success couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, and he even lives in Success! :)

Congratulations Don. Good to see you getting some well-deserved press-play!

Now about not making any more Doctor knives ... (maybe one more :D).

Thats no surprise to me, what else would you expect from a good ol'missouri boy. ;) Way to go Don.

What does the article say about him? We only get Blade at my house.
It was a list of makers picked by 9 of the top dealers using a point system and some how I came out of it #8. It didn't go into any detail on the makers.
The only thing wrong with a top 10 list is there are more than 10 makers that belong on it.

Now this is getting embarassing guys, lets let this tread slowly disappear :D

Thanks to all for the kind words.

That has to be the weirdest system I've ever heard of. No wonder you were on it. ;) Just kidding.
