One of the most important festivals in Nepal are coming up. It is known as the Vishwakarma Puja Festival (September 17, 2014), and it is a very important cultural event.

To learn more about it, go to: http://www.festivalsofindia.in/vishwakarma/

In a showing of support for the Kamis who produce the unique and fantastic khukuris for us, as functional works of art, we can help the Kamis and their families celebrate this event with food and drink, as we have done in the past, by sending a small donation to auntie via Paypal (himimp@aol.com), and noting that it is for the upcoming Vishwakarma Puja Festival.

Thank you for your support, as we have always done in the past to help out our Kamis who make fantastic khukuris for our collections.

Thank you Karda for providing the thread of a past Vishwakarma Puja event that we had helped support with donations in the past.

Heres some pictures from the 2012 HI Shops Vishwakarma Puja festival.... the only pics available from past puja's.
Your donations to this important event for our workers is greatly appreciated! It helps Auntie to provide for a great festival and makes for very happy Bishwakarma.
Which in turn provides us with spectacularly crafted khukuri and knives. Everyone benefits!
Hopefully Auntie can get Rajesh, the shop manager to take pictures again this year.

All donations should be sent to himimp@aol.com with a note that it is for the kamis vishwakarma puja festival.

I love those pics Karda. I love how it starts with a ceremony, moves into a meal, a bottle gets passed around, you start seeing sloppy smiles, and ends with blurry shots of everyone dancing. It makes it feel closer to home that they're celebrating just like we would.

I agree with you, xylum. It appears they do know how to party! A little something sent.

I received a call from Kumar and he and rest of the Kamis want to thank you all for your dontaions and supports to Vishwakarma puja.

Please let them know, "most welcome", and please send us pics of their celebration.
