i have now become a gold member so will be loading up my camera and displaying my very limited collection. hope to hear from all of you on it and advice is sorely needed on how to clean and display since i have never really collected anything before. have always loved knives and now have a way to augment that desire.

First thing you might want to do is create an account on Photobucket or another online photo hosting site, Then you can start a collection of online photos. Most people link their photos contained within a post to an online version of the picture.

I "clean" my JPPG files in Microsoft Office Picture Editor to:
1) Crop the size (remove unwanted outside areas of the picture)
2) Tinker with the brightness
3) Resize each JPG to either [1024 x 768] or [800 x 600] pixels. This is important so the forum does not have to take extra time to display huge files.

Photobucket gives you an email address to send your "cleaned" JPG to a Photobucket photo album.

From the Photobucket Album I cut and paste the coded picture into my post. The whole process is not hard to do at all, but the whole process can be tricky to figure out.

Photobucket makes it really easy in my opinion.

started posting photos today. the first one if my oldest knife ca 1945. Was a knife from my Dad who was in the navy. i once asked about this knife and one of the kind gentlemen on here sent me a picture from a catalogue that showed it was worth about $200. WOW. Hope you enjoy the photos. fortunately i have a resizer program that allows me to change size of my photos and a really good digital camera.

here is my oldest LB7. not sure but think the blade has been sharpened a bit. will post later a comparison of three blades that show a wide variance in the blade configuration.

Good to see your pictures. Look forward to more. You might experiment with shooting outdoors in natural light, so the flash does not go off. Cloudy days work best for me, and mornings and evenings are better than mid day.
