Hello to all, I've finally got some time on my hands to do some posting here. Been lurking and reading for a while now! Anyway, just got a new Marathon GSAR automatic, Feb. 2006 contract, and I thought I'd share. These things are friggin' TANKS! A lot of people are curious about the size of these things so I threw a large Sebbie and a Surefire E2D in the pic for comparison. The dark pic shows the glow from the tritium hands and markers. Enjoy!

Hi truthseeker-

Welcome to BladeForums, hope you like it here! Great pictures, what kind of camera did you use? Did you use a tripod for the shot of the glowing markers?

Thanks for the welcome guys.
The camera is a Nikon D70s and I just locked it down on a tripod. The exposure time is something like 8 secs. Way too long to try and take the pic without the tripod, anyway!:D

got a pricerange on those watches? and some info like a website?
Thx
oh, and welcome btw. Some forums are very nice people. Sick twisted minds live in the whine and cheese swamp :-)

Oh yeah, been there plenty...;)

Here's a link to a good place to get the GSAR. I believe they have a few in stock, as well as the steel bracelets. I prefer the steel over the rubber one that it comes with, but that's just me. If you don't dig the mechanical watch, the TSAR is pretty much the same thing, but with a quartz movement. The GSAR seems to be in the $650-675 range while the TSAR is around $425. The SS bracelet is $160, I believe. The TSAR is what is called for in the newest contract. I've read that NASA divers are being issued that watch.

I was kind of hoping you'd opt for the G-SAR.
I also got the metal band with the wet suit deployment clasp and frequently wear it on the outside of my North Face Apex. This is a very cool site with a bunch of fine fellows with a propensity to spent large amounts of money on ONLY THE BEST STUFF. Enjoy

Nice watch! You should add it to the Watch and knife thread. Lots of watch folk here too! Congrats on a sweet watch.
