Here it is, the bone is kinda creamy colored, cant decide whether it looks like osic or old ivory:) There are a couple of hairline cracks though, but I think they go well with the wrought iron gaurd and handle frame. Kinda makes it look real old.

Very nice looking knife. The proportions of the knife along with the overall styling flow together and form a very, very nice package!

Just way to radiCOOL!!!!!
She is just to Beautiful..The Bone looks great on her also...Looks more on the lines of Ivory than Oosic as it is allot darker in color...
You are also getting pretty darned great!!! on that Damascus to..

Word of warning....Don't mix the wrought iron in your billet. It will have inclusions in it that will make you say bad words all day trying to make a billet with it in it..
I know this from hands on experience.

Will, fantastic bowie. I like that long blade and great handle shape. This is pure classic all the way, you just made my day -- thanks.

Very well done. I think the bone looks like, well bone. To me it is pretty distinctive from oosic or ivory. I've seen a lot of knives from various countries around the Mediterranean Sea with bone handles. To me it says the knife, and therefore the owner, mean business. Class with a sinister air.
I got a couple questions. Did you make the wrought iron yourself, or did you use pre existing stock? Was the guard made in the same manner as Bruce Evans tutorial on guards like that?

Hoplophile, I used a part of an old wagon wheel, probly late 1800's, and I made the gaurd like in Bruce E.'s tutorial. I tried forging it, but wrought iron likes to seperate if not at a high welding heat.

I know what you mean about the inclusions Bruce E., the wrought iron I have so full of them I was afraid to mix any in.

I've got some neck knives in the works, and should be getting some stainless blades back from heat treat within a week or so, and got some more 52100 to finish grinding. Got more to do than I know what to do with, now if I can just sell some of them.

Thanks
