Dont call it a comeback, it's been here for years! That's right ladies and gentlemen, "Mr. Knife's Never Ending Give A Way" is back and better than ever!
You may have seen it before, you may have won it before. The never ending GAW box was a great idea and Porch tradition that a lot of generous people have contributed to, and recently it was derailed due to getting a little too big and complicated for its own good. Therefore, I have hit the reset button on the never ending GAW box. Here is how this cool GAW is going to work:
The GAW is open to paying forum members only, at least for this first go-round. This GAW consists of a box of knives (and let's keep it to just traditional knives for now, since this is a knife forum after all). I will keep this GAW open until Monday, and then I will draw a random name to win. It is open to anyone in the Continental US (at least for the first go-round). If you win, you get to pick whatever you want out of the box to keep, but you must put something back in the box for someone else to take. Do not worry about taking too much, just be considerate and put something nice back into the box. Part of the reason the old never ending GAW had to be reset is because the box got filled with a ton of junk over time (sorry folks, no offense but some of that stuff in there was terrible). I am trying to keep the shipping costs down on the box! We can do that by ensuring that the box is a smaller selection of higher quality items, rather than a huge box full of rusty odds and ends (and also by sending knives without heavy tins and accesories). Speaking of the items, take a picture of the box as it comes to you, and take a picture of what you are putting in it. Then, hold your own GAW and keep the never ending GAW from ending!
I forgot to take a picture of the box as it came to me, but it was pretty heavy. I cleaned out the things that needed to go and got it down to what I think is a nice "Goldilocks" size. I removed the stuff that was in the worst condition and used the money I got from that to put in some brand new items. So, I put in a Mora and a Marbles Toothpick that I already had and I bought a brand new Buck 301 and Nano Bantam for the box.
RULES SUMMARY:
*Must be a paying forum member in the USA
*Just say "I'm in"
*If you win the never ending GAW box, take out whatever you want from the never ending box and put in some knives of equivalent value
*Do your own GAW to keep this fun Porch tradition going (post a photo of the box as it came to you and a photo of what you are putting into it when you do your GAW)
