Had some trouble with my ipod touch 5th gen, the home clicker button stopped clickin' you could monkey with it to get it to work but the tactile feedback was missing, didn't look sunk in but just no click, so I called Apple, it was still under warranty and they sent a box straight out and I sent her back, they agreed it was not good and I got the replacement sent that afternoon, pretty good service there!

But as I went through the upgrading to the latest software, plus it was as dead as a doornail, they send you just a new or refurb'd device, packaged well but nothing else but that. As I went to put it back in my Otter Box defender case, I was cleaning the window and noticed it was not in the best of shape. I was tempted to just cut it out, I do have a knife :) but held back and then I thought, FLITZ !!! so I dabbed a little on there, gently rubbed it in circles and then in long passes up and down the screen, while it was taken apart and also did the inside as well, as dirt had gotten in there and scarred the surface. The Flitz did a decent job, now it's about back like new, glad to have given that a whirl

I've used Flitz or even toothpaste on occasion to buff and polish plastic from time to time. Just make sure that there aren't any sort of coatings on it, like oleophobic or anti-glare.

Novus #2 is great, #3 is coarse and #1 is an ultra fine finishing. Also, I use marine grade rubbing compound to start and finish with Novus #2. Works tremendously well on most all plastics, even did a pair of prescription glasses that were lightly scuffed. Never tried Flitz on plastic, though.

Thanks haven't heard of Novus will check them out as well, also found that Flitz works wonders on scratched DVD's too ;)

I have used Novus to polish oxidized headlight lenses (usually using Meguiar's Plast-X first) with good results; it also saved a nav screen cover on my BMW (whew! Would have been expensive had it not worked) Actually worked so well I pulled the gauge cluster and polished its cover too. Good stuff.

yep, it saved a few dvd's already

My son n law was just over, his iphone looked like it had a gravel textured screen, it was so BAD, took it apart and did both inside and out and now it both looks better AND works better, more responsive to the touch than before, that's a win win for sure.

A tip, one thing I found was, after you rub the flitz on, let it dry and then rub off, as in buffing it off, seems to leave a better finish that way.

Flitz is great stuff to keep on hand. I think it works wonders on plastic. I used it to polish the Acrylic on my Vostok Amphibia watch.

The old yellowing headlights are a pain. They look bad as well as being unsafe. I might try and clean mine up with some of thwt Meguire's stuff.

If you do that be aware that the UV protective layer is gone, so they need to be repolished periodically. I have seen some products that claim to reapply a protective coating after you've polished them, but I haven't heard good reviews about most. One product I'm waiting for someone to try (called Opti-Lens)
