Don't Hate Me Because I'm Beautiful...

I decided to go to a pawn shop that hasn't had much lately. I walked in and looked in the case with the knives and saw something that looked interesting. I asked if I could see it and they pulled out a long tactical looking knife. I pulled it out of the sheath and looked first at the price tag that was on the blade. It said Harry knife $29.99. I looked at the inscription near the handle and saw what looked like Harry but I also saw the Chris Reeve logo.

Hmm, I thought, I'm not too familiar with Chris Reeve's knifes but I bet this is worth slightly more than $30. I looked over how clean it was and said I'd take it. I also looked at a spotting scope and ended up buying both and got a discount. The knife ended up costing only $25!

The knife is in terrific shape and doesn't seem like it was used at all.

Like I said in the title, don't hate me because I'm beautiful. Hate me because of the deal I got. ;)

gret deal considering i just bought one for 320. pictures not good enough to tell if yours is real though

The knife is genuine IMO but the sheath is not original. Still a superb score if it was only 25 sheets.

Deal of the Century:thumbup: you lucky mutha I'm envious, maybe I should check my local pawnshops?

Wow, I comb the local pawn shops all the time and have never got a knife deal even close to that. Lucky!

Every time I see someone scoring Sebenza, ther CRKs, Leica M3 etc from Pawn shop, thrift shop etc, I swear I'd go next weekend, and forget. Then boom, someone scores another CRK for twenty five friggin bucks. I. Must. Go.

Nice score Chad! I love when folks find a diamond in the rough. Normally works just the opposite for me though; in that I'll spot a premium blade and it's marked up 10-15% above MSRP.

Yes, it has a Black Hawk sheath instead of the Spec Ops sheath.

I won't tell you about the mint Leica DS M3 with 50mm Summarit, 400mm Telyt and Visoflex I got for $150 years ago then. :)

crazy stuff  wonder what's the story behind it..
great score! now go and enjoy it

no decent pawns here grrrr...

The sheath IS correct, when the Chris Reeve Green Berets first came out they came with a USA made BLACKHAWK sheath, not the current Spec-Ops sheaths that come with them now.

I find it interesting that the PS owner, or even an associate did'nt do at least a cursory check of the Web to see what they might be dealing with. Just sayin'......

It doesn't say Chris Reeve on it. If you don't know what the logo is then you wouldn't know what it was. They had Harry down as the maker. I guess they Googled Harry knife and came up empty. It's the person who pawned it that I wonder about.

Maybe the knife was stolen and either not reported or else the police report said Chris Reeve Green Beret Knife and it didn't match up with Harry knife on the pawn ticket. Other wise you'd think that the person pawning the knife would let the pawn shop know that it was a $320 knife and that they wanted more than $10 for it.
