Dont kick me out for this.... where can I buy good quality blades

I know most of you are forging your own blades but I am not to that point yet. I want to start by making some knives with pre-ground and hardened blades so I get the handle making process to an art(and pay off the tools I have bought), then later I hope to start learning blade geometry etc.

So to my question: Can anyone recommend a source that sells good quality blades that are pre-ground and hardened? I know good is a relative term, but more than anything I want a source that is honest about the quality and hardness. You know, if they say it is damascus, then it really is damascus.

Thanks for any help

I've made blank blades in the past for members of the forum. If you want to, feel free to contact me at montknives@gmail.com

As for websites, I do not know which carry proper blades but I'd bet that any reputable knife making website that has blanks, they will be as described.

I've only made a handful of handles so far, but the best blanks I've worked with have come from members of this forum. I also like the Spyderco Mule Team knives, but they aren't something that can be purchased in quantity.

For fairly priced "real" damascus blanks, I like Alabama Damascus.

Apart from makers like Tony Mont Tony Mont who mentioned that he does so. There are a couple of places that deliver good quality blank. Like https://usaknifemaker.com/shop-categories/blade-blanks.html

And if you're in Europe maybe have a look at www.brisa.fi who also sell them. (Mainly scandinavian style blades. But some others as well.)

Also I'd imagine that if you ask around with makers there are many makers who'd be willing to make you a blank to your specs. I certainly have done so in the past.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't cross my mind the there would be members willing to sell just blades. That's a great plan.
