I had read somewhere that you could dry green wood really fast in the microwave.
I had just bought some Lace She-Oak From Austrailia on ebay. It looked green.
I cranked up the micro to reheat for 3 min, inserted the wood, and 3 minutes later removed something that looked like it had been laying around in the hot sun forever. All kind of cracks and checks.Completely shot.
So you can also use the micro to give your wood handles that agged look.
now I'm pretty sure I set in at 3 min but it ran a long time. Cound I have hit 30?
Has any one successfully dried wood in the micro??

Yeah, you gotta be careful microwaving wood.

Most wood I've seen from Australia was pretty dry, compared to stuff grown in this hemisphere.
Woods from Western Australia are only about 12% moisture content when cut. . Pretty dry there.

Here' a site with a safer way to microwave.:D

Here's a couple of others on more conventional methods of drying.
