Remarkable quality too - I only ever see things that look like this in drawings in catalogs and it gets hard to imagine that that is how they actually came. But there it is. If you search and have $725 burning a hole in your pocket that is.
 
They also have a black raven at auction that has the sticker and has never struck wood. It has been beaten to crap though on the poll so much that the eye folded.

I don't think that's a sticker...it's a rubbing of the stamp.
 
That thing has been at auction for months and of course nobody will touch it. Might as well send it off to the recyclers.
 
Ah - that is a dirty trick IMO. The guy is asking way more than it would be worth even if it weren't completely ruined too.

He doesn't claim it's original, nor does he claim that it's "never touched wood"--at least not that I could see. From the listing:

Graphic is rubbed sticker which can be removed with astringent.
 
Yeah. They used to go all-out on crazy stamps like that back when the market was more competitive and demand much much higher. It would be uneconomical today. :o
