well, i didn't try to CUT it. i needed to shave off this little splinter on a tile edge that was annoying me. my tile nippers were not around so i pulled out my griptilian without even thinking. duh! edge--gone. little dings in the blade. give me the dunce of the year award. :(

you know they use ceramic to SHARPEN knives right? that would mean its harder than the metal :D Dont worry, i once cut through a hardened screw with a custom fixed blade(i know i know), i was having troubles so i started to hit the spine of the knife with a pair of 24" bolt cutters, needless to say there was one hell of a dent in the edge of the knife, very deep :D

Something that some people don't realize when they whip out their favorite knife at the restaraunt to carve their steak. Most of the plates are ceramic and will kill the edge real quick.

I used to use a Buck Goliath folder to break off screws at old job setting up tents and stuff. Would always have screws in the plywood floors we setup that had gotten the wood hole stripped out. So they would stick out about half an inch and not come out anymore. Out came the Goliath(still closed) and WHACK, no mor escrew. Least, not sticking out.

Still have that thing after a whole sumer. back is really dinged and gouged up, but it works. great, and still locks up solidly. :)

So since I didn't actually damage mine, just realized that I'm better than y'all. ;)
:D

...And DON'T use your knife as repacement for a stick, to roast your hotdogs with over the camp-fire...That could "change" the heat-treatment.

speaking of ceramic, i wandered across some web pages sporting boker knives with said blades. any good? pain to sharpen? stronger than steel as advertised? i don't hear you guys raving about boker too much. whats the scoop?

harder, but much more brittle
also, needs diamond to sharpen, and you'll have to finish off with silicon carbide to remove the ultrafine scratches that might cause cracking

Lol, it's almost too perfect - the fact that you used a pair of bolt cutters to do it.:D

Ditto :) I would have liked Vice-Grips more if it was a movie..., but what the heck!
