I watched a video from Cutlerylover who was using flitz and said that not to use it on kitchen knives or anything that would encounter food. Is this true even if you wash the knives afterwards?

Thanks.

I'm not sure whats in Flitz, but I would have no problem using it on kitchen knives if they were thoroughly cleaned afterward. Think about restaurant utensils, which are stuck in the mouths of 800 diseased people before you use them. You can use restaurant utensils with confidence (generally speaking) because they are thoroughly sanitized. JMO.

That video is pretty old and he was mistaken; it's non toxic. Just use the flitz and wipe it off when you're finished and you're good to go.

While a Peanut Butter & Flitz sandwich would not be a good thing to eat, using it on steel (which doesn't absorb a heck of a lot,) then washing it off before using the knife in the kitchen shouldn't cause any problems at all.

Yup. I use flitz as a stropping compound, and I've never had a problem eating with the knife afterwards...after a good wipe-down, of course.
