alright guys this question is kinda of fishing but
what the hey. My situation:
I have a large regular sebenza from the custom shop
with a polished blade and my initials engraved on the
back slab above the lock bar. Carried but never used or
sharpened. I don't want the knife. It was a gift from an ex-
girlfriend so there is no sentimental value to it. I am married
now and the wife has something to say every time she sees it. I have several other sebbies so getting rid of this one isn't a big deal. So my question is
what to do with it. Should I try to sell it?(I wouldn't figure anyone would
want a knife with someone else initial on it) Do you think offering it at a
discount would help? Would you try to send it back to the factory? Could they do something? Any comments or suggestions would help. Thanks.

:D:D:D:D wouldnt that be great.:D
Their D.A.G. by the way;)
and I can email pics to whoever wants them

You could offer it at a discount, it might sell. Honestly, I really dont think the initials would matter if someone wanted a user sebenza. I have bought many old vintage tools to use and many of them have the owners initials. For the die hard collector, this detracts from the value, but if you want a user, it means nothing. At least to me it wouldn't.

D.A.G. is cool enough to pretend it means something other than a name anyway :P short for dagger or something

This situation is a little tricky. The problem with any customized product is that their appeal is so highly and subjective. In addition, the locking side of the sebenza is the least replaceable. As sensitive as CRK is with regard to material thickness tolerances, I cant see them agreeing to "grind it out", so to speak. You might e-mail and ask Heather about what your options are just to make sure.

As far as re-selling the knife, again I think that the customization limits your buying audience, and could reduce selling potential of the knife, even as a user. I don't see an easy way out of this right now, sorry bud.

Hey Shooter!! I would love to own my very first Sebbie in size Large! I wouldn't care if your initials were D.U.M.!! :D

Shoot me an email at brwcty59 (at) gmail dot com with some pictures when you have time. I'd love to take a peek!

isnt a D.A.G a piece of dried up sheep turd stuck to the animals rear end?

Have had a lot of pic requests so here they are.

What steel? If the blade is BG-42, you could sell it quickly, even with the initials.

The steel is s30v. The small regular is unused and is in bg-42. Spam Removed.

I could use that knife every day for the rest of my life and never even give it a second thought. Heck, I might even take my dremel and try to squeeze in an "N" between "A" and "G"!!

D A G = Damn Awesome Girl
D A G = Dang Acute Guillotine
D A G = Down Around Georgia
D A G = Double Action Gun
D A G = Dead And Gone
D A G = Days Are Gone

drunk and giddy

dilligent and guileless

i better stop before this catches on and people start rifling them off...

if i was in the market for a large seb id consider buying it. but im not. at least its pretty small, and im sure yo could talk to crk about getting a new lockbar side for it but i have no idea how much that'd cost.

I would gladly take it as a gift...if you dont mind....:D:D:D

Death and Glory!!

Also, just out of curiosity, what type of case do you use to store your knives and watches? That little thing looks awesome.

Sell it. I had a small Sebe with my full name on it. I was surprised that someone wanted it. I ended up getting more than I expected at the auction site. These knifes hold their value.

The lesson....never engrave.

Good luck,
Dave
