Its inevitable in a using knife. They get scratched and dinged and sullied. But I do hate that first good scratch on a new blade......I know...character.

Once I realized that scratches can almost always be polished out, I decided not to worry about dinging anything up. I enjoy using my knives and getting them scratched up. It gives me an excuse to break out my sandpaper and give 'em a little TLC.
I recently found a place where I can buy sandpaper all the way up to 2500 grit, so I'm mirror-polishing everything in sight! Look out!
