Do these Katana even come close to the real thing? Folded? Differentially tempered? Edge hardness? Can any current HI katana owners speak about their blades?

AHHH!!! I WANT IT. If i was working instead of sitting at home with mono i could afford it to. The worst thing about being sick is having alot of time to look at all the things you want to buy on the internet but can't afford.

mtffalcon, i'll start a thread for ya about HI Katana's, cause i'd like an answer to that question to.

Another interested Japanese style user here ...especially interested in the HI Wakizashi size blades and their handling characteristics and abilities in tamashigiri use?

They are not folded, but they are differentially tempered. All the reports I've seen have indicated that they are very tough and durable swords. I posted a link in the other thread to the HI sword thread.

If you mean exposed tang, no.

Looking at the pommel end, it looks peined over, so I'd wager it is full tang.

Could someone please buy this before i spend the money i don't have? It's a beautiful piece of work...

Thanks Gothmog... I am happy and sad all at the same time. Happy someone bought that sword before i spent cash i don't have, and saddened for the same reason. Good buy :)
