Interesting and kinda cool, but I don't see this gaining much popularity. It might be sought after by the curious and collectors, but that's about it. Just MHO.

cool

useful....not as much as a single barrel
easily carryable? not really

good for home defense probably not, to hard to get loaded

now then

Where can I get one?

They need to manufacture the left side as a truly left-handed 1911, and would sell a whole lot of them.

Bit silly and a lot unnecessary. I see it being used in a movie as a villan gun. Like the double desert eagle in the Green Hornet movie. "my gun has two barrels"

Just because you can build it, doesn't mean you should. It really raises the question of why? besides the fact you can build one.

If you want too big to be impractical, you have the Desert Eagle (which would be more comfortable), and at least you can get a heavy duty rounds like the 50AE.

And if you want true stopping power, get a 1911 in 50AE or 10mm.

I just shake my head everytime I see that double barrel 1911 and ask the age old question of WTF?.

Apparently the mags are united, so loading wouldn't be so bad...hey I'm a traditional 1911 nut and I know that this version is most likely not going to live up to the standards of a custom 1911, which has undergone a century of refinement.... But, it is a start, a platform of a very awesome concept...that many years from now may be a new standard... The more barrels the better when UR trying to kill shit that's trying to kill you...period. Everyone has preferences and opinions...I personally carry a 1911 as backup in bear country...which many folks laugh at, preferring the wheel gun hand cannon fads to compensate for their shortcomings...but, I shoot better, both faster and more accurate with a 1911, which is what Really counts in that situation...so the idea of potentially putting two 45s down range in the same spot at the same time per pull of the trigger on a 1911 is intriguing...even if it it does take years to work out the kinks...I say press fwd men, press fwd.

Shouldn't build it...thats the world is flat talk...when folks ask why build it? the response should be "Because We CAN"...that's exactly why. As humans, that's what we do...keep pushing the envelope until something great happens...maybe it is impracticable...so what, keep pressing fwd. If we are to be content...then why did we move on past black powder ball and cap...why gatling guns? Because multiple bbls are better than one...provided it functions that is. The ball and cap was more than anyone needed at the time...quite revolutionary. Lets be content with a 100 year design just because its awesome...no, keep pressing fwd. Besides two .45 holes leek more fluid than one .50 or 10mm hole... ya don't normally need 50 AE or 10 mm velocities on the soft fleshy, ketchup packet, sacks of humans...the slow 45 works great...the more the merrier. Don't get me wrong...I hear ya, the thing is probably obnoxious to carry, and doesn't function well enough to be worth the awkwardness of it... and I personally would probably choose against it 9 times out of 10 for practicability. But...ya have to admit...its still a cool concept...just like overly large and heavy knives.

Seriously? Well why stop there? Maybe the next one can be three barrel with one at 12 one at 3 and one at 9 O' clock.

I wish the sons of guns guy was my Dad...I'm so jealous! They are awesome! I think I'm just geeking out cause I miss my 1911s so much...I only get to play with them when I go home once a year. The double is probably just a gimmick...but, I still like it...wish I could shoot it. In all reality I'd probably think wtf if I ever held one...

I understand pressing forward, but there is no future in gun designing with this. Nothing is more efficent or practical from this.

As for being soft packets of flesh, yes we are. That being said, a 22LR would get the job done.

I carry 230 grain ball ammo, nothing special, but tried and true. With it, you only need one shot. 2, at the same time is not necessary and just a waste of ammo.

And are you sure about 2 45acps leaking more fluid that a 10mm or 50AE?

Needs checkering on the frontstrap. That thing looks slippery and clumsy as hell. Imagine the holster for that thing, which probably points about as well as a bar of soap. And how do you take it apart to clean it? The barrel bushing looks like a single piece.

I think I'm already over the double 45...it is a little silly I guess, but I still want one. Just like I want one of the double tube keltec 12 ga. But...there's always a future with new designs even if it's failure, if you only have one shot two bullets would definitely be more efficient, only needing one shot of 45 is dependent on circumstances not a given, wasting ammo is a non issue if your ass is in jeopardy, the 45 leaking more was just a comment relative to hole diameter (.9 in verses .5) and didn't consider hydroshocked tissue trauma inside which can be a major contributer, and
22LR most certainly does not get the job done unless UR point blank and they are not armed, but please don't shoot me with a 22...cause that would indeed suck very bad
