Double Bezel

I have one. Love it. On mine, the lock is a bit sticky but that's ok. And,

the grind line under the spyder hole is a bit uneven. Also, I was never really into tantos before this knife, so it took a bit to get used to it. No worries. Still a great knife. You're going to enjoy it.

I'm getting used to tapatalk as well. See how the pic is right in the middle of the text? Yeah, unintentional. LOL

What is the purpose of the grind? Is there one or is a "because we can" curiosity type thing?

Its supposed to be for fine detail work. But my guess its more of a "because we can" thingie.. looks nice though

I think, honestly, it's like John said, because we can. Having reinforced that belief, I still really like this knife. I was a bit skeptical at first thinking the knife was really big, but after watching a few more YT vids I realized this size knife was going to be ok for me. It's very slender, and doesn't take up much room in the pocket.
The different grinds take a bit of getting used to, but once you learn how the knife cuts, it's a cool cutter. I was not very familiar with tantos when I first got it so I was using the lower point (where the belly would be on a standard knife) as my main cutting point. As I used it I figured out where the best cuts come from. Anyway, when I first got my DB I noticed the edge was a bit shallow at the transition point of the two edges, making it seem dull. I have not really corrected this yet, learning to cut with other parts of the blade.

I have wanted one of these for a long time now and keep an eye for a affordable price to pop up but they don't seem very popular.

Well, they aren't generating very much talk around here for sure. And, I think the unpopular-ness of this blade is what keeps the cost up. It won't drop unless the business knows it can move it. At least that's my thinking on it anyway. $135 is what I paid for mine, and that's about as low as it will get I suspect.

Ditto. I've been wanting to try one but for ~$150 there are many other folders I'd like to try first. Never enough money..

Agreed. For 135-150 the blade should be S30V and the scales linen micarta. I will concede that I love the materials it's in now but think it was too expensive.

I love the DB and the fact it was a colab with Bob Terzoula, but I won't be "collecting" it any time soon. On a side note, Spyderco must not think much of it either......notice.....no sprints for this one.

They are smaller than you think. This is nothing like a CQC 7 which is a good thing to me. Very understated and sort of Delica-esque. I don't have one but have played with the one at the b&m a few times

I was surprised at the size when I was able to handle one. I carry a Delica most of the time so the size is perfect.

Let us know how yours cuts. I'd be interested to know if the transition point edge is as weird as mine is.

Alright, I have been carrying this knife for about a week or so now and all I can really say is... Holy Crap!!!! Most underrated knife ever.

Lets start with the knit picking. The lock is a bit sticky and I do not see a point for the different grinds, it would be fine with either one. But it makes it unique and I do kinda like it.

Now what I like... It is pretty much the perfect size for EDC, the shape of the knife and handle make is disappear in your pocket. It has heft but is not heavy, the weight of the handle and blade make it rocket open with a good flick. This knife has totally passed the Delica in my book, not as perfect at the Caly for me but very close. IF I ever get my hands on a g10 Delica it may change things bit for now I am very happy and impressed.

I really like mine but I don't carry it because the detent is so weak. I ran into that on a Starmate too. How is your detent?

Mine may be a cherry of a batch, it has flawless smooth and fast action, so smooth it usually means pivot play, but absolutely none. I carry mine often. Love the package size when folded and in pocket also. Nice and understated.
