I am looking for a high quality double bit throwing axe. The two that I have found are the Tuatahi and the Gransfors Bruks. Any input on these or any others would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

A friend of mine have the Gransfors Bruks double bit throwing axe. I have tried it. A little heavier in my opinion, but it fly well, and always this incredible quality, both steel and hickory handle. I love these Gransfors hickory handles! Strong and dense wood. A pleasure for the eyes and for the hands.

I don't know the Tuatahi. Do you have a pic or a link xxxxx?

Don't know much about the brand names you mentioned, but I do have 2 nice double throwers I use for competition. I got one head at the scrap yard and another at a flea market. Went to Lowes and got nice handles for about $7. Total price for both less than $30. I just cut the handles to the desired size. Have abused the hell out of them with no fear or failures. Lots of fun for very little expense!

Thanks Bilker, the double bit heads that I have found have been heavy, but I am still looking.

I have the G.B. and think it's great for two handed throws but if you want something a bit smaller for single hand throws have a look at the http://www.ragweedforge.com/ThrowingCatalog.html
there you will find a double bit nessmuk
Don't forget to get some spare handles;)
