Double bit problem

I have an old double bit that would be nice to save, but some klutz used it for a hammer and now both cheeks are concaved into the eye so much that I don't think a handle would fit well. Is there any way to correct this or has anyone tried? Such a shame since, it's otherwise a really nice Rixford. I'm suspecting it's just a piece of junk, now.
thank you
Jim

If you're looking for a last resort, you could try what I tried once (successfully) on a beat-up single bit, I'll call it "cold drifting". I had various sizes of old splitting wedges, and I found one that did the trick. That axe head must have had good quality, tough steel, because I was really pounding on that wedge with a 4# hammer to get the eye back into shape. Like I said, it was a last resort. As a wise man once said, "Sometimes you have to crack some heads to save some heads".

I have a double bit with the same issue. It was either used as a hammer or anvil or both. Mine is nothing special so I'm going to junk it but Steve's suggestion sounds like it might be worth a shot for yours.
