Don,
Are you willing to work with carbon steels instead of ats34? If not, why is ATS34 your steel of choice? I am sure it is a fine steel, and good for a pocket knife, just wondering why the stainless in a very traditional pattern?

Your bone handles are exceptional as well. Just a gorgeous knife.

Knifetester,
I do use other steels but I prefer ATS-34 for the type of knives I make. With slip joints the hardness of the backsprings is critical. Too hard they break and too soft the knife does not work right (walk and talk). ATS-34 is very consistent for me. I test each blade and backspring that I put in a knife. The hardness is the same each time and I feel comfortable with the results. I also like the finish I get with ATS-34.
Thanks, Don

Don,

All I can do is reneforce what others have said AWESOME!

I really like knives that have subtle embelishments, rather than overworked.

I am considering a custom slipjoint myself & checkout your website regularly.
