Double clip carry

On many of my folding knives, I utilize two clips (one on each side) so I can carry one in each pocket, or use either the LFP or RFP to carry one so equipped.

It's also handy when you concealed carry, for when you're packing you can switch it to your weak side immediately without the hassle of moving a clip. When you're not, you can carry it strong side.

I got this idea from a good friend that got me deeper into knives, which I went crazy on as a hobby afterward. So I did not originate the idea, but practice it also. He carries the one he's always had, a CQC7, or the Benchmade 710 LE (CPM-M4) I gave him last winter, and both are so equipped.

Does anyone else do this?

Nope, not on Emersons since they are mostly tapped for RHTU.

Now I do not understand why the person who asked the question can not return his Emerson for Left Side Drill and Tap Service, buy the nessessary Screws, and Second Clip not not accomplish his wish?

Right hand only for me. I can wave it from any pockets doesn't matter left or right, back or front, you name it I wave it! ;):D

I don't like the feel of a pocketclip on the "fingers side" of the grip.

I don't either. I actually tried that with a BM years ago to see if I'd like it. Felt odd to me in either hand. And since I don't really use clips much anyway, there didn't seem to be any advantage for me in having two clips on a knife.

I always carry my knife on my strong side. Same with my firearm. Unless you're pocket carrying, why would you have to switch?

No matter how much research & Developement, testing, field testing, beta testing. When any product hit the market end users come up with ideas how to tweet, or customize thing. THAT WORKS PERFECTLY AS DESIGNED.

We got this customized down the road from me called McMillan, they will take a perfectly good Glock Handgun, and if you have the dought to dump do about $1000.00-$1,500.00 worth of customization.

Me I don't the whole exercise, but those that have the bucks are free to do anything they like with it.

I'm more than certain he can. But speaking to the way they are sold, in new, as is condition, you have one option right hand, tip up. I've also not seen too many if any at all declarations of the benefit of havin dual clips on any knife.

I've always have been carrying on my rightside. If I were to carry leftside it would be due to odd circumstances. Rightside front & rear pocket for my sharps with my flashlight in the left front pocket. Just realised I'm lefthanded for flashlights LOL.

Left Handed Tap & Drill service at EKI is I believe $25.00, plus a return shipping fee.

I don't see the point of using two clips at the same time. As others have pointed out, it can be very uncomfortable in hand when you want to use it. I'm sure almost everyone here owns more than one knife. In the event that they would need a weak side carry, they could simply have a knife with a dedicated left carry clip.

Some times you cannot sell people with strange ideas, thing will not work out, or to take someone else's advice. They just got to do what they think will work. In the end it will work, or they should have listened

This is what I do when carrying a knife on the left side. During the summer I will occasionally pocket carry and need to put my knife on the left side. I just leave them set up for right hand carry, whether on the belt or pocket any knife i carry on my left side comes out in reverse grip edge forward. If i need to cut something with it I will typically switch hands anyway and if I had to cut someone this is absolutely the fastest way to get them out as long as they have a wave or are a fixed blade. I have a few ZT 0360.SKD knives that came with two clips mounted, one on either side, both for tip up carry and I removed the one for left hand carry since in practice it wasn't very comfortable to use.

I double clip Every Knife I own. Except my two Emersons. But that is because I haven't got around to it yet. But I will. As for waving being an excuse to not double clip.....you indeed can wave - in the reverse grip from the left pocket.

That is what I do with my T3 and HEST from DPx. Unlike some, I like the feeling of having the two clips. Gives me more purchase in just about every case and with some permanent nerve damage in the left arm/hand it really comes in handy. My wife even wanted me to do her Contego that way. I love that woman.:D
