Double Cut Usage Wear

Anybody have any close-up shots of the double-cut finish after usage?
I have a few dull/satin (bead blasted) finish knives (non-Busse). One has started to wear down to a polished/mirror finish at the wear spots. My Zero-Tolerance daily user is still intact with no wear. As a matter of fact I have used 1000 grit wet/dry on it to clean it up after some hard usage with no visible scratches.
I never had a Busse Double-cut and wanted to hear how they fair.

i have always wondered how a well worn dc finish looks myself. had a few sar3 in dc but wasn't happy with any of them so ended up letting them go before ever using one.

hope to see some pics...

IMHO, DC shows wear, scratches and scuffs more than most finishes. Also, it seems more prone to rust. At least that's been my experience. I still love the way it looks though.

I agree. DC shows wear quickly. I had a 2007 BATACSE for a couple months and even kydex wear showed up really fast. I stick to coated or satin finishes now.

It's not the Busse factory dc finish, but it's a dc finish on a Busse. It was used only for about 1.5h medium cutting and chopping. It lives in a kydex sheath which is responsible for the most obvious scratches. I personally love the looks of used dc finish. And as long as you keep the blade oiled it is actually less prone to rust than a satin finish. This is because of the porosites that hold the oil much better.

This is my only double cut Busse. First pic is a year and a half of use cutting small branches and sitting in the work truck until needed. Second pic is less than 5 minutes of cleaning with Never Dull and then a rinse with soap and water.

Wow never dull removed the rust spots, that's awesome.

Old DCBB looks different than the more current versions. Maybe Busse changed their process? This MoFo, on top, was xaman's user, but it does not show much wear. The forward portion of the bevels shows a very fine machined pattern, instead of the typical dull matte frosted look.

Is that a SAR 4?

It's a Meaner Street. It was DC but i didn't like the scratches on the finish so I made it satin.

I used 400grit and 800 grit sandpaper and scotch brite for the finish. Small rectangles of sandpaper on soft wood or rubber works great.
