Four months ago, this WIP, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/951953-Damascus-Walrus-D-Guard-Dogbone-Bowie-WIP-Buddy-Thomason-Photo-Paul-Long-Sheath?highlight=wip+d-guard+dogbone detailed the making of a Damascus /Walrus D-Guard Bowie.
A matched pair of Walrus tusk sections had led to an order for a matched pair of Dogbones: D-Guard Bowie and Dagger.
Here are Buddy Thomason's matched photos of the matched pair.
Here's the second of the two, a 10 5/8th inch Damascus/ Walrus Dogbone Dagger, with twin Spanish notches. The damascus fittings are complemented by Sterling Silver accent spacers, file-worked frame liners, and domed pins.
It's a "Take-down" also, and here's a shot with the "Take-down " tool, it's spare assembly pins, the sheath stud, and a silver-bound Damascus billet key fob.
As a reminder, here's the D-Guard Bowie.
And here's a photo of the pair, taken this week when the owner brought the D-guard by the shop to meet it's brother.
Here's Paul's pics of the magnificent sheathes. Each is black leather, with Beaver insert, Shark tip and throat, matching Damascus stud, and "take-down" tool "Papoose."
Thanks here to Paul, Buddy, and a very good patron of the Arts, my client and friend.
John
