Folks, a quick question (after a story) :
I got a Double Cross a long time ago, unfortunately it didn't lock up like I expected, so, me being me, I tinkered and dinked with it. Well, I messed it up (my fault) and threw it in the junk pile. Well, I wrote Kershaw way back when, explaining what I thought was a design improvement. They responded - with a brand new Double Duty! I didn't even send the old one in. That's what got me hooked on Kershaw. Well, I gave that Double Duty away to a friend. Last month, I missed that little guy, so I bought a Double Duty. Great knife, perfect treatment of the AUS6 blades, awesome whittler. But, the detente is a little loose on one of the blades. Great lock up, etc, but opens easily.
QUESTION - has anyone had experience and success in tinkering with the liner tension on one of these knives? Being pinned, I can't take it apart and fix. But I love this knife (this particular one, hand picked by me). I just wish it could go from 90% perfect to 98% perfect (nothing is 100%).
So, give me your ideas. And Kershaw, hats off to your product and your service. I don't have many (Ti Cyclone, 1993-2, Double Duty, and the "inexpensive" yet most used kitchen knife I have, the Pure Komachi Fish)
