Something about that double edge makes me like the new profile more. Looks great.

Do you think it would be possible to grind the double edge like one full covex blade. At 1/8 inch would you lose much cutting performace over the hollow grind? It would look amazing, not sure on the feasability and performance though.

The main bevel (top edge) is a flat chisel grind that transitions to zero convex. The botton edges are also flat chisel grinds straight to zero.

I really don't see the advantage of a full convex grind that terminates to edges on both sides. I think that it would take away from the clean crisp lines. Maybe I am just not understanding what you are asking ;)

What I was trying to ask was, is it feasible to grind it without the line between the two sides of the blade? Just a smooth transition from one edge to the other.

I hanlded the double edge pikal at the last get toghether, for a dedicated pikal, it works great! The handle is hand filling (in a good way) and very secure. Awesome addition to Ban's strong pikal line.
