Double edged folders

CA is good only because we can carry double edged folding knives concealed. But how many production double edged folding knives are out there? It seems to me only cold steel makes a folder with both ends factory sharpened. I know the Covert is also "doubled edged" but I don't have the time or skill to put an edge on an unsharpened spine. Are there any other folding knives (not balisongs) out there that are truly double edged?

Check my Photopoint page for autos made by MIKOV. They are not really double edged but can be easily sharpened.

The covert (and the full size version) really aren't that hard to sharpen the back of the blade on. If you know how to sharpen your other knives, you should be able to do a decent job in 30 minutes or so.

If your going to go that route make sure the blade closes all the way beneath the frame or you better carry quite a few band-aids.

So how do you close it?
I know, I know, veeeerrrryyy carefully.

In handling the CS Triple-Lock, it was obvious they'd set it up so that it's "grabby" on opening, to avoid "Balisong-like swingopens" that would get it banned

Five minutes with a dremel would fix that

. Since it's NOT of a "banned type" and has a thumbstud, such a little freakshow would probably pass legal muster in Calif. I've been considering setting a double-edge TL in such fashion as a backup to Mr. Sifu

Until I can get a Muscrat, that is

I sharpened the false edge on my AF Combat Folder. Strider is right...make sure the blade when closed does not have an edge portruding. That happened with mine so ground the edge down just a hair so that the closed blade sits well within the handle. The blade symmetry is off jsut a tad now but that doesn't really bother me as much as having a sharp edge sticking out of my closed knife. I coulda swore that on the box it said that the blade could be sharpened on the false edge and still be safe in the closed position?!?!
:P

The airlines have never given me problems about the sharpened top edge of my covert. But then again I usually have a wad of money clipped to it which seems to deter them from looking closer -- they don't seem to want to be caught touching somebody else's cash, too many problems.

The blade of my covert sits well within the handle (so does the blade on the full size version). I have never had any problems with the edge sticking out.
