I've been eyeing the Cold Steel Triple Action for several reasons as of late: 1) it is the only knife of the market that uses that type of lock and opening mechanism; 2) it is one of the few true double-edged folding knives on the market; 3) I've wanted to try the new VG-1 steel that the company uses now. I've seen less than favorable reviews of this knife, but I picked one up on the wonderful world of eBay for $35 including shipping. Let's keep this forum politic-free, citing only the performance of the blade. Cold Steel or Lynn Thompson-related forums have all turned into heated debates recently and I want to avoid that---performance is the only key. How did I do?
I'm a big fan of twin edges for self defense work---you have twice the options, in my opinion, for an attack and also room for error if your cutting stroke misses and it's necessary to use a backhand attack. Are there any other double edged folders on the market? A few similar (although not always truly sharpened) examples I can think of are the Gerber Applegate folder and the AG Russell Folding Sting (for this one, especially, how does it perform?). Thanks for the input and help.
Thanks for the opinions on the Triple Action and its similar counterparts, I appreciate it.
God bless you, America, our allies, and our men and women overseas.
