Why doesn't Busse offer any double-edged models? Can any of the standard models be ordered double-edged?

Regards,
Mark

I would guess (and I'm just guessing) it is because generally knives are used for utility purposes (even Military knives) and double edged knives are not the best for general utility. There have also been some Busses in the past that were DE (daggerlike) but most of those are highly collectible now.

I have several Busses that are double edged but they are variants and were not offered as a regular production item.

You could probably contact the shop and see what they could do for you as far as making a regular production model DE (419-923-6471)

What model are you considering?

I hope this helps

Carl, LOL!!! great!

Eric, IIRC you've got the variant like this that has kind of a flat running along between the two primary grinds. This one has a sharper ridgeline separating them. Personally, I just wanna know how you tapped the INFI pipeline so close to the source. ;)

Another option is to get a standard Busse knife, then take it to a custom knifemaker for modifications. Have the knifemaker put the second edge on it or any other mods you'd like the knife to have. Even paying for the rework of the blade, you'll probably come out cheaper than ordering the custom-made blade straight from the Busse Custom Shop. If you're accomplished and have the tools, you could do the grinding yourself.

Here's a thread with link & picture of a Busse Basic 7 that I put through a couple of changes. It became a double-edge fighter from its usual incarnation as a field utility tool.

Just one more way to skin the single-edged Busse cat.
