Is anyone familiar with a double lockback, one blade is a clip, the other a spey. Wood scales, long bolsters, filework on the liners. Possibly from the 80's. In the Prince/Squire style. Thanks for the Help!

This is the model 535, Bucklock - 2. Actually, I think the blade you are callling
a clip was a drop point. If you compare it
to a 110 clip and a classic Loveless drop
point it is probably closer to the Loveless
style. A few of the early 535s with sawby
lock versions exist. When Buck recalled the
sawby versions, they then redesigned the
series with mid-body lockback mechanisms.
A Sawby blade is released (unlocked) by
pressing down on a button located on the blade near the tang. This downward pressure
releases the lock and allows the user to
close the blade. Sawby versions are easy to
spot because they have no visible lockblade
release as is found on the lockback models.
Other models with this sawby system were the
531 and 539 TruBlue folding fillet knife.
After dropping the sawby system, Buck made
the 531, 532 and 535 with lockbacks. They
also did the 539 TruBlue with the conventional lockback system. Hope this helps.

Hi Dry,
Larry is right, the knife is a 535, Bucklock 2 and it is a great knife. I got one yesterday! Your timing is perfect since I was checking it out last night.

Basically the Buck is a 532 with the extra blade. It's a very hefty knife and mine locks up solidly with no blade play. The locking release is very sticky though and will require some breaking in. I have a jpg at home and will email it to you from their catalog from the 80's.

The 531 is basically a larger version of the 532. This is a wonderful series and the file work make them nice knives to have.

Let me know if you have any questions. I got my 535 on Ebay.

Thanks for your post, Larry, I learned something.
Regards,

I just noticed that you don't have an email address, Dry, if you want the jpg just email me and I will send it to you.
