Double Lug Preferance?

So I was super close to ordering my first CRK about a month and a half ago and then like an idiot I told myself I would "make up my mind" over night and sure enough it was sold out the next morning. Since then I have been constantly looking for a small s35vn sebenza. Anyways I finally have the chance to get one but it is a double lug.

I am just curious as to what your preferences are on a double lug? Would you want one or do you prefer single? Does anyone know how much extra a double lug would cost if you were to order it from CRK? Thanks.

Myself, i can go wither way.

To me having a double lug is more of a luxury than a necessity.Meaning when I'm playing with my Seb, opening and closing it while watching a movie or reading, I can switch hands.

And I guess in a dire situation, it helps to have options( maybe your right hand is un-able to be used)
It woulden't matter in my purchasing a knife though, but it doesn't hurt either.
I actually just ordered my first double lug today.

Don't quote me, but I think the double lug is another $20-25:confused:

i prefer it. my first CRK was a small sebenza 21 s35vn lisas pick, and i asked for the double lugs. I just wanted the option to be able to open it with both hands. If memory serves, i believe it was less than $20. But! i did purchase mine before the price increase, so it could be more now.

Never wait :P I was waiting on a double lug insingo, and a micarta sebenza and they both disappeared in a flash. I'm planning on just ordering from CRK and wait the however many months it takes. I feel like it's a modern day gold rush with CRK >.<

Im not sure if this price is still accurate but I've sent three sebs in to get double lugs and it cost $35 plus $14 return shipping each time.

I much prefer the double lugs for ease of opening left or right handed plus I think it looks better more symetrical.

Well thanks for the input everyone. I just grabbed one for $385 plus $7.50 shipping off ebay. The seller still has 6 left if anyone else is looking. I figured by the time I ordered one from CRK, ordered a double lug and paid for shipping to Hawaii (on top of waiting all that time) the price would have been similar anyways. I'm excited, my first sebenza.

I can almost guarantee you it won't be your last. I bought one, then bought another for a friend. Then I have gone on to purchase a bunch more. I know I'm not done buying them yet. Not sure If I will ever be "done". I love them all. Large, Small, Regular, Classic, 21's.

I would agree, the price is slightly higher though..

I see you have already bought , but I will chime in anyway. I have had double lug on 2 small sebenzas and a number of other knives. Other than to test opening the knife with the second lug I have never used it. On my 1st small it was very hard to open with the 2nd lug-present one is easier and it is easier on a larger knife. If the knife comes with double lug fine, if not fine also-no big deal.
My 2 cents on the matter

I agree on both points. In fact, the only Seb I've currently got that is a single lug is headed out to CRK tonight for a double lug.

Things in twos just seem so right:

Double Eagle Gold Coin
Double Breasted (as in sport jacket)
Double Down
Double Clutch
Double Barrel
And aren't there Double Stuffed Oreo cookies :)
I would love Double Lugs..but at the moment only one of mine has it, since I have purchased all of my knives used.

Single lug for me. One lug can get caught when slicing through something big, two makes it about four times more likely.

I can see the utility in them but it is just not for me.

I also prefer the single lugs but that's because I'm not ambidextrous and I'd probably cut myself something awful if I tried with my left hand.

I'd be okay with the single lug, but I really like the look of the double lug. I have one on order now.

It's in the mail... I seriously can not wait for it to get here.

OK haha edit my old post. So I got the sebenza in the mail and it is amazing! The blade is in fact stone washed. (it was so subtle I thought it was polished when I first looked at it) What a work of art. I'll post pictures when I get some time tomorrow.

I love Chris' stonewash. To me its the best in the biz.i don't think he's ever done a blasted blade, its either polished or tumbled.

I'd have to say in that pic it definately looks stonewashed.

For reference heres a Blasted blade:
