I saw the modular double sheath on Chuddy Bears website and thought it looked great... heavy... but... great.

So... I tried to get my own version together.

It's not as graceful as Chuddy Bears version, but, it appears to work.

Thanks for looking. :)

Very nice Soup! Way too heavy for me to lug around though :D

Man, that looks great to me! How does it feel on, better tighten that belt, eh?

I am curious as to what keeps the BATAC sheath from sliding down the FBM sheath. The cinch straps might do it for light activity, but how secure is it if you are moving at a brisk pace? Not like many of us, myself included, go jogging through the woods with a monster like this strapped on, but curiousity begs the question. :)

Didn't that come out nice! Good idea, great execution

Really nice work and a great idea! I'd have to wear it on a baldric, or something, I suspect...:D

Thats a great looking sheath:thumbup:

I'm starting to feel in the minority around here, having never made a sheath myself.

Thanks guys (and girls). :)

It is quite heavy...but... probably about the same weight as the axe and knife combo I'm used to carrying....the axe is no longer needed.

Good question.....

At the moment it is friction alone that keeps it together... I might need to add something to the welt of the larger sheath...but... I will find out it's failings when it's in use.

Looks very nice

Just wondering if an over the shoulder set up would be better for some thing that heavy? Or would it be awkward to carry. Have you tried?

Yeah... it seems fine on a riggers belt... it's not that heavy... maybe 5 lbs. :D

Bear in mind that I would only be wearing this when working around the camp.... it would be in a side pocket on my backpack for the rest of the time.

People in the UK can get a bit hysterical at the sight of sharp blades.

I love those types of setups. Soon as I get a BM I will be getting something along those lines.Great job there bro.

If you can cinch the straps down very tightly you may need to just place some thing like a strip of drawer liner between the strap and the welt. Not a big ugly pice, just enough to make contact. Just a thought. Maybe the "ranger" bands or a pice of inner tube as a non slip sleeve would work and it could serve another purpose.

Good thinking... I try the inner tube idea.

Thanks Gunner.

I'm here to help. :D Looks like I can't spell "piece" to save my life though. :D

Well... that did the trick.

Just one piece of inner tube against the welt and the whole thing is solid... I can't pull it apart... unless I really going for it.

Thanks again. :)
