Double-sided tape

Hello, all, I am making some knife edge protectors from manila file folders. They are similar to those sold by "Safety Products". I want to use a double-sided tape to seal one side. Uline has 1/4" tape, but charges $5.00 for shipping (each roll!). Considering that the tape only costs $5.00 per roll, I think that the shipping is a bit severe. Does anyone know where I can buy double-sided 1/4" tape? I put an edge protector on each knife that I sharpen commercially, for safety and to "protect the edge". I have been using a glue gun, but that is unwieldy. ...... Thanks a lot........Dan

Why not just plain ol' Scotch-type double-sided tape or Elmers-type glue?

You're using common manila folders, right? So why go overboard on how they're joined?

Wood glue is fast on paper products.

I will sometimes cut a piece of cardboard to length and width, and (carefully) stab the dull knife into it so as not to pierce either side. Once sharp, slide it back in.

Just buy some double sided carpet tape and cut it into 1/4" strips. Or use the double sided tape used for attaching clear window insulating film - it's about 1/2" wide. You can use it and let it hang out past the seam then trim it flush with scissors or a knife.

Thanks, guys. I found some 3M double-sided tape for less than a penny an inch. Works well. I thought I would need something exotic. But no!
