Double wheel hollow grinder

Here is a video of my double wheel grinder. It has two 1 X 42 belts. I figured it would be something different to show.

Looks like 2 motors, in 10 to 12 seconds you can see him turn the 2 sides on separately

Yes it is two motors, both halves are basically mirrors of each other.

Great idea, I once talked to a friend about doing this with 2ea 2x72's. But I really think your idea of using 1" wide belts is much better/smarter.

WOW so simple a idea but Icould just imagine how easy it could make some things. Could you imagine daggers with hollow grinds!

You know I bet if you spent a little time you could set it up with one motor which turns one wheel connected to the 2 big wheels.

Looks like a really good setup! Especially if you do razors, and you need a good way to make hollow grinds!

You make mention in the video that you don't use the machine much anymore. Why?

I do not use it much because there is no finesse to it, it grinds everything the same. It is a good roughing tool. I am more comfortable and have more control when using a single wheel.
