I like the Specs/looks of the Ritter MK1-G2. I've had a Griptillian so I know the size and how it fits me. I have XL/XXL hands and was wondering if the choil bump bothers anyone? I don't have one but thats about the only thing thats kept me from risking it. Looks like its forward a hair much but I'm having a hard time being able to tell.

I have read a couple reviews that said they wish he'd left it off. One mentioned it felt weird to him. Thats about all I can find and not really enough to push me one way or the other.

Anybody have one that can give their feelings on it?

I can also use a minigrip, wouldn't mind this one in a mini size but imagine that would be even tighter?

I have this Hogue Ritter and also benchmade full-size grip. Both handles feel great and hard to tell which one is better. I understand the finger groove may not be ergo for some people. Like the finger groove on spyderco Endura is uncomfortable for me but the one on Delica works for me.

Looking at the picture, the bump does seem to be a slight bit too far forward. But after reading the post from sharp_edge, I had to get my old Endura out and look at the handle. I used the Endura most days a week as my outdoor work knife up until about 10 years ago. I never noticed the bump in the handle until tonight! I then looked at my Griptilian, another former work knife, and see that the handle has no bump. I never noticed a hot spot using either one.

I doubt that small protrusion would bother me at all. Owning a m390 Ritter Griptilian, I doubt I ll get the Hogue Ritter, but I m tempted.

It doesn't bother me or interfere with my grip in the least. I've had large and small Grips since 2005 or so, and I still have a bunch that I carry regularly. I haven't had to make any grip adjustment at all with the large RSK Hogue handle. My hands are med-large in glove size. A medium work glove is a little snug, but it works. A large work glove is "comfortably roomy", but it won't fall off. The part of my palm from side-to-side at the base of my fingers is 3.5 inches.

H-T-H...

My problem with Endura has more to do the size of my hand. With only the index finger in the grroove I feel my hand is stretched and a bit too far away from the blade. Squeezing the index finger and middle finger in that groove is not very comfortable either.

To me benchmade full size grip has great ergo. I tried some AWT scales. While their built quality is great and looks greater, they are definitely not as comfortable as the stock scales.

Cant feel mine at all and this hogue ritter fits my hand like a glove !
I have medium side hands though but again it’s one of my most comfortable/Natural feeling knife in hand that I own.

This is a long thread talking about this model. The finger hump on the handle is very minimal, not very different from not having it (i.e., Benchmade grip handle).

Yeah I've seen the silliness when looking for the answer in other threads. I just wanted to know before dropping the money though. Thanks for your answer.

Go ahead pull the trigger. I have two full size: one orange one black both with stonewashed blade. I might also buy a mini.

I say buy one and use it like you’ve stole it :D
That way you won’t notice the hump ;)
Wait there’s a hump ? :p

I started thinking about a PM2. Actually a buddy started pushing me. I've had dozens of Spydercos but never a PM2. I...KNOW.

Anyway, the Ritter is still calling [SCREAMING] my name like....well you know. Anyway, I've been ready all afternoon I just haven't committed yet.

If I like it I'd eventually like a mini also.

The PM2 might have some of the best ergonomics of any folder on the market. For me.

Go ahead and plan to get a Hogue Ritter and a PM2. I really doubt you ll regret buying either one.

It's a tough call, but go with your gut, get the Ritter first. You'll get a PM2 anyway.

These are my users and they are the two knives I reach for the most.

Thanks for making them lefty friendly Hogue and Spyderco!

I think it’s a Win Win !
It would be hard for me to choose between the two it’s that close .

I think the liners are inset deep enough that if you hated the choil you could file it down without reaching the liners
