Upon Arrival: I removed the micarta handles from my Bk2 and slapped them on the RSK. Less beefy fit in the hand due to the slimmer micarta scales, but they feel a little nicer than the grivory ones did. Fit 'n finish was Rowen all the way. Flawless would not be an overstatement... Well, I suppose I could pull a serious nit pick and whine that the grivory wasn't 100% flush with the tang, but sheit...That'd be a bit pathetic, imo. They fit the Bk2 better anyway. I'll buy new ones for the BK2 eventually.
Everyone has a hard on for factory sharpness, so I'll spew some accolades stating it was perfectly ground by an expert hand. And sharp enough to shave with. Briefly touched it up with the Sharpmaker's ultra fine stones and it wanted to cut me as much as shave at that point. I'd call that pretty damn sharp.
I like the sheath's design and all, but dislike how loose the blade sits inside the insert. I was hoping it'd be a locking insert, but it's just a noisemaker that likes to rattle rattle. Oh well, not so bad with the collar closed. Very identical sheath to my Ontario Rat 7.
Overall Impressions: I like it well enough. Wasn't a love at first site kind of thing. Not sure why. It has the grind I like, the style I like (drop point), but the feel of it in the hand wasn't that "wow this feels great" feeling that both my Bk2 (especially after putting on the micarta handles) and my ESEE Izzy II had. Speaking of my BK2, after holding it, everything else feels like a toy by comparison. Makes the RSK feel that way too. I think I just need to use the RSK some more for it to win me over.
Hard to take a proper photo with this little guy around. He would have tried to run off with it, had I given him the chance.
