I like the Douk douk quite a lot. Very functional, sharp, thin blade and a solid spring. The only problem I have is carry it in such a way that is does not try to wear itś way through my pockets and destroy my pants.

So I wonder how other affectionados of the Douk carry theirs. How do you keep it from wearing a away thru your pants?

I rarely carry either of mine but I suppose that you could secure it within the fold of a wallet or otherwise line your pocket like so...

Fred Perrin told me years ago that he used to keep one taped to his foot inside his combat boots. (Not that I'm suggesting that as the ideal mode of carry.;))

just ordered my first pair, small and medium. I was thinking the same thing with how the tang sticks out...maybe a small soft leather knife pouch?

The Douk Douk is one of the few knives I put in my back pocket. I attach a paracord lanyard which hangs out and makes it easy to locate and retrieve if it slides down into the bottom of the pocket.

I only really carry it if I'm wearing jeans, since the pocket is on the outside of the pants. Maybe it's my imagination, but if I put a knife in the back pocket of pants with an "internal" pocket it seems to move around and poke me more. Maybe it's the extra layer of denim between the knife and my posterior.

I also carry my Mercator knife the same way. The thin profile and relatively long length of these knives make this the most natural carry method for me. Plus they already have bails attached. Might as well use them.

Not sure if that answers the question or not. I don't really carry any knife long enough, or wear the same pants often enough, to create a wear pattern on my clothes. I switch knives almost every day. And I have a lot more knives than pants!

I don't recall if I ever carried my Douk-Douk but since I got a nicer cell phone I've carried all my knives in Sack-Ups pouches to prevent scratching the phone. The Sack-Ups are thick cotton like winter socks. They do a good job of keeping a knife in place. What size Douk-Douk are you carrying?
