Just got my Douk Douk 200 mm "El Baraka." Its a pretty tough slip joint folder and I'm liking it more and more each minute. It wasn't all that sharp from the factory so I gave it a few passes over my Lansky Crock sticks and stropped it a bit on some 600 grit paper. Its slicing very fine now. The tip was a bit rounded so I also filed that to a sharper point. Then I decided to give it a forced patina. To be honest I'm not all that into forced patinas, I'd usually rather just let it get a natural patina over time and oil it to protect from rust but it seemed like this "Tiger Stripe" patina fit with this knife and I like how it offsets the Turkish Slip blade from the chrome handle. I also made a short leather cord lanyard because this thing really hides in your pocket its so slim. I'll see how I wind up liking that. Let me know if anyone else had done any mods to these guys or if you want to show off your Douks - Go for it.

"El Baraka" - trans "Blessing of God," This Knife was sold in the North African Market so they replaced the humanoid caricature with the Berber Star for religious reasons. The was the weapon of choice of the FLN as they fought the French Colonizers. Pretty Ironic.
