I really don't know! I've been a fan of Douk-Douk for 5 or 6 years now and I've never seen it before.
I should mention, it appears to only come in Sandvik stainless. I know many folks love Douk-Douk for their crazy-easy-to-sharpen carbon steel..

Besides blister-pack stuff in big box stores, there is nothing available where I live, I don’t think. Not even the few remaining independent hardware stores have anything good

WOW! I never thought they make anything except for the traditional models. Now now, what do I see!..

Main question is the method of painting the handles. Hope it's not some easily searched thing. Would be really interesting to see one in person.

This is a limited edition (says the website). They also have some other models ("Sons of Douk douk") which are nice too.

I actually have 2 copies of these knives but I don't use them.
So I will not be of any help to estimate the resistance of the handle coating to use.

I will try to get information from French users (if they use them..)

Not wanting to start a new thread I'll ask here first, I'm looking for a small (160) douk douk with a sheepsfoot blade in french carbon. Are these available anywhere?
