Trying to figure out a inexpensive pocket knife that would go well in my bug out bag. I have narrowed it down to 1 of these two.

Which one should I get?

I think the question of size is really what will determine this for you. I've got a small douk douk and while I love it for EDC, I may want something slightly larger in my BOB if this is the only knife. There was a recent review of the pocket bushman on WSS, and people seemed to like it. I've been meaning to pick one up. Even from what I've read I think I would prefer a pocket bushman over a douk douk.

The choice will fill a gap between a Swiss Army Tinker and a Kershaw Outcast that I thinned out a bit. Big is where my Khukris and hatchet come in. They are in my larger BOB.

The Douk-Douk is a bit more interesting than a SAK spearpoint blade, but realistically, it is pretty much the same as far as function: a very sharp, small slicer. Both are slipjoints

The Pocket Bushman is a large, rugged folder with a very strong lock. In fact, some people have found the lock too strong to be safe: closing it is a task. But it will loosen up somewhat with oiling, working the pivot, and time.

For the BOB? Pocket Bushman. For the pocket? Douk-Douk!

Have you considered the Mercator K55 Cat? Smaller than the Bushman but almost as strong, and as thin and comfortable for pocket cary as the Douk-Douk. You will find all kinds of information on the Mercator in this old thread: K 55 Mercator :)
