Dovetail cutter milling speed

What would be a good rpm speed to run a hss 32mm (1.25”) dovetail cutter when cutting nail nicks and do they require to be used with a lubricant?

I run mine very conservatively (like 200 rpm or less) and you absolutely want to use a good cutting oil. I like molydee or a sulfurized cutting oil. Don't use WD-40.

Look at any of my slip joints, they're all cut with a 1-7/8" 45 deg dove tail cutter.

People do it all different ways! I do mine with a single point carbide lathe threading insert put into a fly cutter holder. Never wears out, adjustable nick width and angle.
