Here are a couple new slip-joints I just finished. Both are 3 1/2 in closed. ATS-34 steel. 416 ss bolsters. One has exhibition desert ironwood (the saddlehorn) and giraffe bone on the trapper.

Planning on holding these for show. Thanks for looking, Bret

I like them both. Nice elegant lines on both patterns. Not normally a fan of giraffe bone, but those look great to me although my favorite of the two is the saddlehorn.

I like them both but the saddlehorn is superb.

Yessir...nicely done on both, which are BOTH trappers btw.:D:thumbup:

(saddlehorn's be trappers)

Thanks for the replies. I had trouble geting the web site to work, but it must be up and running. Thanks for letting me know Vince.

very nice. i have looked at many dowell knives and fit and finish is the one thing i always notice. The pictures wont give his finish work justice.

Brett, both knives are very nice. But I really like the Giraffe bone Trapper. Larry

Smooth, tasteful and un-fussy, they look very appealing.

I'm confused about Giraffe bone, it seems to come in a lot of colours, does it dye easily? Can it be jigged or is it too fragile?Looks excellent there.

Hopefully the bone is harvested from animals who died in captivity or of natural causes, don't like hunting of rare animals for their products...

I like your description very much.

Giraffes aren't actually rare or endangered. I believe most of the bone for sale on knife making supply sites is a result of culling.
