i have a few sleeping bags that have lost a bit of thier loft form being stored packed down now i would like to know if its possible to restore the loft to them and how

read that thats not a good way to store a bag. Can you wash them in a comercial front loading washer and then dry in a dryer on low? Thats the directions for my sythetic.

I read that you want to hand was down and then use a commercial dryer on "cool". Here is a link on down maintenance.

As far as storing a down bag, you don't want to use the stuff sack. Get a cheap cotton laundry bag and put it loosly in that. Save the stuff sack or compression bag for when you're packing the bag.

Nope. If the down has been stored crushed for too long, it's probably ruined, and can't be fixed to a significant degree. Sorry.

You can get your bag refilled with new down, which may be less expensive than a new bag, depending on how nice of a bag you have.

Well, if they're not too bad... but youd like a little better... another option is to keep the old down, but also have some new down added.
