My son came home on spring break yesterday, and today he asked me if he could have one of my Leeks. I told him I liked them both for different reasons, but asked which he would prefer. He chose the 1660 stainless over the 1660VIB rainbow. He doesn't know it yet, but the 1660 is going back to school with him.

So, now I have a bling Leek, but no under the radar ordinary Leek.

Here they are, back when they still lived in the same house.

I think I've given away about 10 Leeks to my sons and nephews

Feels good doesn't it? :)

It does.

And yet, of course I am now tempted to replace it with the 1660CKT, or another of the same.

The Leeks seem to be attractive to pretty much everyone. I know lots of people that only own a Leek and think of it is the way they think of nail clippers or a screwdriver. I've given away a number myself and turned some people on to carrying a knife regularly. I have somewhat subversive intentions. I hope that when people see the Leek the same way they see a puny SAK that the attitude towards knives and knife laws will change. I believe I can carry pretty much whatever I want in Oregon but across the river in Vancouver Washington a number of my knives are illegal, at least to purchase anyway.

You have to be careful though with giving Leeks to significant others, immediate family, close friends, etc. otherwise you'll soon find you don't have any Leeks of your own because you'll be giving them away all the time and some of them will start collecting and staking a claim to yours! I have to agree with Morrow though that it feels good to give a knife to someone that really loves it and appreciates it. :)

I have the 1660CB, 2 of them in fact, 1 of them just recently lost it's handle in a trade, and just got a set of G10 pants put on today. Makes for a helluva carry knife- CPM-D2
cutter with grippy G10 handles. Leek perfection.
