The Brits are America's closest allies, as well as our both literal and figurative kinfolk. Americans and Brits have fought and died, shoulder to shoulder, for the cause of liberty. And in fact continue to do so to this day. I would take Margaret Thatcher over anyone that America now has to offer.

So I say Up with the British, thank you.
 
And I would take George over them all.

It was just in the spirit of today.

Still glad I'm not eating blood pudding and saying god save the queen.

"Happy 4th of July" may get a better response.
I'm also not a fan of everything British, (especially Michael Bisbing) but in our current situation with foreign relations, I appreciate them as allies.
 
I just learned today that 1 in 4 Americans do not know the country from which we won our independence. WTF?

I doubt Myker is seriously bashing our current relationship with the British, but rather referencing our past, erm, misunderstandings which lead to this holiday.

It's an American holiday, but I don't have to work today, so happy 4th of July!

The brits ran the world with an iron fist. silly to forget what pricks they were 200 years ago, or celebrate our victory over them. praise the japs on dec 7!

Myker, this thread is an abortion from start to finish. It would have been well enough if you just said something in keeping with the spirit of the day...but your rather meager and poor attempts at what you call humor are only causing our other members to get irritated and one can only guess what our British and Japanese friends are taking away from this.

And we don't refer to the Japanese as "japs" on this forum.

Let's just move on.
