Wow! I just downloaded the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat reader from Download Zone, and all of a sudden I have half a dozen different "applications" trying to run themselves on my computer! Bad mistake, trying to get software from anyone but the original manufacturer! Whoops!

Yeah, you gotta be careful with stuff like that. Adobe does it on their own site as well (McAfee crap). When clicking links, or going onto the next step of an installation, pay attention to every box to check/uncheck, or what you're actually agreeing to when it says "OK" or "Continue" or "Next". Otherwise you'll end up with half a browser window filled with toolbars, bookmarks, and ads.

Oh ya, you have to make sure you uncheck or else you will get mcafee and a bunch of toolbars that take over all your default settings.

It's not upfront either, sometimes you have to go searching through all the TOS and such
