This will be my last piece until after the new year for me. The damn doctors say I need to be off my feet for 2-4 weeks to allow my heels to heal. :D I've had heel spurs for 4-5 years and it has finally won the battle.

This was the first commissioned request for the Bingalor. All materials specified were by customer request. I had never worked with Timascus before. ( learning curve there ). Patterned on the Lorien Arnold design "BingaLor". It is down sized from the proto. 3-1/8" Blade CPM154 Cryo'd , 4-1/4" closed. Anodized titanium liners / screws. 3/16 pivot /bearings /Zirc pivot screw. Zirc Bolsters and Timascus scales.

I realize this will not be every ones cup of tea

Thanks For looking
Bing

I like it. Materials are unique but the Timascus is cool. In this case the Timascus is actually subtle compared to some wild patterns I've seen. The ergonomics and F&F look spot on. Nice work Bing!

Awesome Bing! I like everything about it....the size, the zirc and the timascus. Really nice job Pal.

what a treat to open your thread this morning, Bing! It's an early birthday present for me:)

I wish you trouble-free medical care and a quick recovery, Pal!

Looks good.

Bing, I recommend you make that screw in the bolster blind, as in, put it in from the other side. It will look a lot cooler!

Also, understanding that is an order, if you do the Timascus thing next time for a spec piece, damascus or a hamon would look sweet for the blade....right now I feel there is too much contrast.

Best Regards,

Thanks to everyone who viewed and commented. The wife just put a new lock on the Shop so I cannot sneak out while she's at work. I tried to talk her into bringing the grinder in the house. Set it up next to my recliner  I guess she still doesn't share my sense of humor.

Thanks again

Bing

Good luck with that one, Bing. Your living room is waaaay too clean for her to ever buy off on such a thing. But, I'm a firm believer that while you're going stir crazy, you'll come up with all kinds of great ideas you'll want to try. I just feel sorry for your wife... ;).

Very cool, Bing! I really like this pattern...can't wait to get mine! Take it easy and get back on your feet, buddy.

Sounds like there is a waiting list for the new Bingalor. Already sent Bing the mammoth scales for mine to match the larger version. Get well soon Bing (and get back to work). Kidding of course, take it easy.

STeven, normally my tastes follow yours, but this time I think Damascus would make this almost gaudy, and the austerity of a plain blade compliments the rest of the ornate fittings.

Awesome looking knife, man. Thanks for sharing!

I was thinking straight up zirc, timascus, MOP scales, no bolsters, would look pretty trick on the junior version.

I'm with Matt on this one. I think a damascus blade would make the overall aesthetic much too busy.

I agree with Stevens hamon suggestion and I think that even a polished blade would complete the dress vibe.

Thanks to everyone for the additional ideas. This one has so many possibilities.

Ben Looking forward to our little rendezvous in Little Rock. :Dshhhh

Mark, yours is the first in line right after I get back on my feet again. It will be exciting to see the 2 together.

Cheers

I think a nice ladder or raindrop pattern would not make the overall aesthetic too busy, but everyone has a different aesthetic ideal.
