Dozier Battle Bowie!

Just received this beauty in the mail, so I thought I'd make you all jealous... incredible balance, still very agile for a rock-solid knife, and shaving sharp... gotta love that D2! Feel free to post a pic of you favorite 7" fighter! It was the "Exposure" movie that gave me the inspiration to seek out this one, and I like it!

Exposure! I saw that in the theater, ten years ago. Still a fun movie. In fact, it's why I have a Blackjack Applegate and a sub-hilt fighter...
Has anyone read the book it is based on, "High Art" by Rubem Fonseca?

Is that a new mod........I have not seen it before......Dozier D2is some of the best around.

Congrats

not a new model, but I had not seen it b4 either... until I stumbled across it at knifeart. Bob is reknowned for his smaller blades, as well as his hunters and skinners, so the bowie didn't really get too much press... even here at the forums when I ran some searches... great knife though!

The "New Bowie" as was termed and shown in Combat Knives, Sept. 98 issue is very well balanced with most of its weight at the front. I' ve used one of these and found it to be a very good chopper. It is still however, quite fast in the hand. Most noticeably when one requires a change of direction while in mid stroke. Overall it is a very good combat knife.

Nice Bowie Larry...

I love bowies myself...

Look into Robert Hankins... he makes a few very nice ones... I picked one up recently and have another on order... I plan on getting one every three months...

We should meet up with a bunch of the other NYC guys and have a little "show and tell"

I know it'd be highly illegal and all to carry this here in NY, so I'd never even consider it (disclaimer for you LEO's), but I'd love to hear your suggestions on various discreet carry methods... was looking into Survival Sheath shoulder rigs, or perhaps just Dozier's own vertical holster... any thoughts??

The Dozier Arkansas Toothpick is NYC legal. I prefer his IWB sheath over the horizontal one.

What I say to friends who warn me about carrying a 5 inch knife...

"I don't worry about the knife... I worry about the .45 I got tucked in my pants..."

Those are some of the best defined grind lines that I have seen. That is a great looking knife, but what else can be expected from Bob Dozier?

Yeah, I never really pinned Bob as a "big" knife guy (big, being over 3" for him!), but this one I like better than several knives I've purchased from top makers and manufacturers in the same size range. Plus it still cuts like his smaller knives... pushcuts right thru paper held loosely between thumb and forefinger, and meat = butter :D

That is one beautiful blade. I was contemplating buying it myself (I assume it comes from Knife Art?), and when I finally talked myself into it, and logged onto the Knife Art website, I saw it was sold. :( Oh well. May it serve you well. :)

Ad, don't despair... Bob still makes them, so you can always order (takes about 4 months), if you're patient, and spend less than I did!

Yea, I think I'll have to contact him and order one. That is one fine blade.
